Jim Buchanan is a pianist, organist, composer, recording artist, conductor, and accompanist in the Sedona AZ area. He is a member of American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP), American Guild of Organists (AGO), American Guild of English Handbell Ringers (AGHER), Association for Lutheran Church Musicians, and is Minister of Music/Organist and Office Administrator at Christ Lutheran Church in Sedona AZ. He also operates his own music publishing and promotion company, Jim Buchanan MUSIC (ASCAP).
He has recorded and released six piano albums in the past ten years. They are titled A NEW DAWNING, REFLECTIONS, CHRISTMAS DREAMS, LOVE NOTES, INSPIRATIONS, and BY REQUEST. Another of his CD's is a duo with nationally known singer/actress, Lynne Wieneke titled TOGETHER. Each is available in CD and features popular love songs, broadway, oldies, light classical, and inspirational music as well as his original compositions.
Jim's newest Cd was released last November and is a collection of Organ Meditations called BLESSED CHRISTMAS.
Buchanan plays regularly in the Sedona AZ area and is known for his solo concerts and his concert series, JIM BUCHANAN and Friends. He has adapted and performed three musical soundtracks for video presentations made by internationally known Sedona artist, Curt Walters. Jim has performed in the Phoenix AZ area at the Boulders in Carefree, at Barnes and Noble Bookstore in Scottsdale, and Virgin Mega Music Store in Tempe. He has played for various corporate functions, weddings, restaurants in Sedona, and private parties.
